Cesar Bona (Global Teacher Prize Finalist – this award has been dubbed the ‘Nobel Prize’ of teaching) said “the biggest challenge for education today is to teach our students in a 21st century environment, so school’s doors must be open not only to let our students come in but also to let their ideas to go outside the school”, so we think that taking some ‘time out’ from regular classes and doing something completely different can really help students as well teachers dynamics and you can also give quieter or less able students a chance to shine. Cultural diversity generated by this project, enriches and strengthens the relations between Lithuania and Spain. It is very important to exchange experiences and educational methodologies between these two European countries with so different contexts. The main objective of the project is to create a common innovative methodology based in the evidence of the work carried out in the project implemented by both schools. Apart from this, another main reason why we decided to carry out this project is to improve our students’ basic skills as well as promoting exchanges among students and staff from two very different schools in two countries such as Spain and Lithuania with great cultural differences. Spanish school is located in a low middle class area in the suburbs of Madrid whereas students from Vinius belong to one of the top 5 schools in Lithuania. We would like our TALISMAV project to be a kind of TALISMAN that could bring great prossitive aspects to both partners and many other organisations. European Agencies suggest making students active and conscious European citizens who are competent in the course of their own education, self-confident, able to use ICT to ensure effective communication, and determined to reach their main goals in life. We would also like to count on open-minded teachers ready to develop their professions and foreign language skills. Therefore, this project enhances the possibility to know the context of bilateral partnership and to understand new teachings methods when experiencing learning abroad since every single participant will be able to develop diverse strategies to be implemented, afterwards, with our Lithuanian and Spanish students.
